Following internship, many doctors will undertake postgraduate training with a view to becoming specialists in areas of medical practice which appeal to them. This section provides a brief description of each of the specialties recognised for the purposes of specialist registration in Ireland, and the postgraduate training bodies
responsible for the delivery of training in these specialties.
