Internship Registration
This allows a doctor to carry out internship training, as determined by the Medical Council, for one year in an approved hospital under consultant supervision. Doctors usually begin internship training immediately after graduation from medical school. For further statistics please click here.
Trainee Specialist Registration
Registration in the Trainee Specicalist Division is for Interns completing their internship training and Medical practitioners who have completed their internship training and are undertaking postgraduate training in recognised training posts. For further statistics please click here.
General Registration
General Registration is the only form of registration available to medical practitioners who do not practise in individually numbered, identifiable training posts and have not completed recognised specialist medical training. Registrants may practise independently without supervision but may not falsely represent themselves as holding specialist registration. For further statistics please click here.
Specialist Registration
Specialist registration is specifically for medical practitioners who have completed specialist training recognised by the Medical Council and can practise independently as a specialist. For further statistics please click here.
