Update Registration Details & Request Certificates

Annual Declaration Questionnaire
In accordance with the Medical Practitioners Act 2007, all registered medical practitioners are required to complete an annual declaration informing the Council if they have practised outside the State and/or any material matter likely to affect their registration. The information provided by you will be retained solely for use by the Medical Council and may only be released to a third party for regulatory purposes.

Apply for EU Certification
EU Certification is certification of doctors who are trained / have their training recognised in Ireland. It is for the purpose of recognition in other EU Member States or for entry into the General Medical Services Scheme in Ireland.

Apply for a Certificate of Current Professional Status
A Certificate of Current Professional Status can be requested by medical practitioners who wish to work outside of Ireland. This certificate provides evidence that the doctor is registered with the Medical Council and that no disciplinary proceedings are in progress or contemplated against them. Note: Certificate of Professional Status replaces the former Certificate of Good Standing.

Change of Registered Address
A doctor's registered address is the only address to which the Council is entitled, under the Medical Practitioners Act 2007, to send communications relating to any matters arising out of the Council's statutory functions. Medical Practitioners are obliged to inform the Council when they change address.

Change of Registered Name
The Medical Council registers doctors using the name on their basic medical qualification. If you wish to change your name on the Register, you must provide a certified copy of your State Marriage Certificate or Deed Poll.

Add an Additional Qualification
A doctor may apply to have additional qualifications added to their records on the Register of Medical Practitioners provided that the qualification is recognised by the Medical Council.
