Developments in the Process to Retain Registration

The annual process for doctors to retain their registration with the Medical Council has recently concluded, and we’d like to thank doctors for their engagement with the process. 

In response to feedback about the timeliness of receiving postal certificates, we have introduced electronically issued certificates which will replace the type of hard-copy ‘annual retention’ certificate issued to date.  Doctors have this year received a one off decorative certificate for the purposes of display, which has no expiry date and should be retained permanently.  Annual registration certificates will, from now on, be sent via email.

We have also worked to improve our online systems, and there was an improvement this year in use of the website to retain registration.
