Seeking expressions of interest for Health Committee Members

The Medical Council would like to invite applications from suitably qualified medical practitioners interested in becoming a member of the Health Committee.

Members of the panel will assist the Medical Council in carrying its function having regard to the provisions of section 20(4) of the Medical Practitioners Act, 2007.

The Health Committee’s primary role is to monitor and support medical practitioners maintain their registration during illness and/or disability. A relevant medical disability is defined at section 2 of the Medical Practitioners Act as a physical or mental disability of the practitioner (including addiction to alcohol or drugs) which may impair the practitioner’s ability to practise medicine or a particular aspect thereof.

Full training will be provided.
