Registration Checklists
All doctors practising medicine in Ireland must be registered with the Medical Council. In order to apply for registration, you will need to submit an application through the Medical Council Doctors Portal available here.
Please consult the eligibility chart to check which route you should submit your application under. Once you have created your online account and submitted your online registration application, you will need to submit your supporting registration documentation, as outlined below.

General Registration through Certificate of Experience Route
If you have qualified outside of the EU/EEA and are applying for General Registration through the Certificate of Experience (COE) Route, please submit the documents listed below through your Online Doctors Portal Account via the Documents tab under 'My Profile'.

If you have qualified outside of the EU/EEA and are applying for General Registration through the Higher Qualification (HQ) Route, please submit the documents listed below through your Online Doctors Portal Account via the Documents tab under 'My Profile'.

Restoring your Registration
If you have previously held registration with the Medical Council and are applying to restore your name to the register, please submit the documents listed below through your Online Doctors Portal Account via the Documents tab under 'My Profile'.
